Thinking things: "Godless chatter"

2 Timothy 2:16
Avoid godless chatter, because those who indulge in it will become more and more ungodly.

Sigh. It's definitely my weakness ): Recently I find myself joking around more and it stuns me. I don't remember when all these" godless chatter" started to appear from but I know one thing is for sure that it is not right. I think as a Christian, our tongues/ lips are to speak forth edifying words and words of love and kindness but recently, I think I've been indulging more and more in godless chatter? It's rather fun but is it right? And what is considered to be swearing?

Psalm 39:1
I said, "I will watch my ways and keep my tongue from sin; I will put a muzzle on my mouth as long as the wicked are in my presence."

Sometimes not joking around would be better as compared to joking around? I don't know. Must keep myself in check and start speaking words of kindness and love rather than words that are sharp and cut. Even if people don't mind the joking, it's still wrong and something that is not pleasing to God.

The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.

Should learn to be more conscious of this. Hms. Well, that's my lesson which I'm the process of learning and changing. Help me to overcome this Lord. Please be strong in this weakness of mine.
